“Loneliness will sit over our roofs with brooding wings.”
― Bram Stoker, Dracula
(Yes, I changed the title. The other one was just awful.)
This is a Vampire the Masquerade (20th Anniversary edition) one-off I’m planning to or will have run for Roll20CON 2016. I have to, I bought the T-shirt.
I played classic VtM back in the early 90s and loved the shit out of it (both tabletop and LARP). Then I forgot all about it for 20 years.
Then Roll20 announced Roll20CON and I announced my intention to run a one-off game for it. I had no idea what yet.
Just recently I got sick and had to spend a lot of time in bed and read 18 different RPG rulesets because there’s only so much Netflixing one can do. And so we end up back at VtM.
The Roll20CON game is already full but if it goes well there’s no reason it can’t be run again for whoever wants to dip (or redip) their toe into angsty Kindred goodness.
Note: having read the new-new World no wait Chronicles of Darkness and Vampire: the Requiem ‘reboot’, I find myself in full agreement with @Psychochild that it’s a half-assed remake of a system that IMNSHO didn’t need it. It needed tightening up and a couple of consistency passes (which it got for the 20th Anniversary edition), but it didn’t need weak-saucing the way VtR is now weaksauce. Your mileage may of course vary, and that’s fine. But seriously — strix? Gimme a break.
I’m planning on making some pre-generated characters for the scenario and may post them here if they don’t suck too hard (I’m out of practice).
In the meantime, I’ve written a primer on the basics for the players new to VtM (which is 3 of the 5 players) and I’ll post it here because why not. Voici le link to la page.
All the art on this page is by Tim Bradstreet, hands down the best VtM artist EVAR.
