I’m totally in the mood to do a blog entry, except… I have a fever, and my brain is being lightly poached into incoherence. Thus, and since other bloggerators seem to do this, I’ll let my handful of faithful readers (yes yes, money is in the mail) suggest subjects, ask questions, or hurl abuse as they see fit.
If you don’t, my ego will be crushed. (Did that work?)
As an aside, dammit and RIP Paul Newman.
Does WAR prmote the making of ALTS more than most MMO’s on the market? Aside from City of Heroes of course.
And how do you remain focused on your main?
Hahahah Hud, oh boy… You are SO asking the wrong person. Hello, my name is Ysharros and I am an altoholic. Kind of like Inigo Montoya without the father-fixation.
So far, while I have *made* a bunch of alts, I haven’t actually *played* them that much. Time, RL and other gubbins like that has been a factor, though compared to one-char players I already have enough alts to sink a battleship.
If you’re an alt-maker, you’ll make alts. If you’re not, you won’t. I’m not sure any specific game really makes it easier or harder. Look at SWG back in the day — one char per server (not counting the unlock), so the altoholics just got more accounts. Oh yeah, Sony sure knows how to milk that cow! š
I’m a little amused and puzzled by people who plan to level one char to max, then another, then another — but people approach tasks in different ways, and mine is to chop and change whenever I feel myself becoming stale, or my attention-span wandering. I’m like that with RL work too — I need variety. Others prefer constancy and will work on one thing at a time.
As for WAR doing one or the other… if I understand things correctly, the whole Capital City Siege thing will require controlling more than just the T4 areas, so maybe people are going to start making alts that they “park” at relatively low levels? I dunno.
It’ll be interesting to see what WAR looks like in terms of chars, levels and populations a year from now.
Can the internet carry illness?
Yes. It is the Fount Of All Evil.
Along with fennel. Or anything licorice-flavoured.
Fennel = agreed
Licorice = disagree
Glad I wear a masked in front of my PC then…
The smell is ok. It’s the taste I’ve never been able to get used to… Except for the actual licorice-wood sticks my grandad used to sell in his pharmacy (drugstore for you Americans) when I was little. THOSE were nice, if a little sticklike and woody. š
Does content really matter, as Oakstout just asked in his blog. He is instigating WAR, but I would like to know if there are distinctly two different types of MMO players: content driven (aka content conquers end game) and achievement driven (aka where is the ‘Game Over’ sign?).
Just something I’m wondering more and more along the way.
Get well, Ysh. Soon.
And MOOOOO!!! will cure everything.
